Description: Nothing starts the year like an an all day hike to get the blood flowing and get reacquainted with the natural world and good people! We'll hike the 5.7 mile loop, stopping along the way to admire the winter landscape, sprinkling tidbits of ecology, geology, cultural history. Pack a sack lunch that you can eat on the trail and bring plenty of water. Please preregister at the link below for additional information and to help us keep a manageable size for the group, as we strive to keep safe physical distance during these challenging times.
Location: Bogue Chitto State Park, Franklinton, Louisiana.
Date and time: Sunday, January 24, 2021; Meet at 8:45 am, hike ending around 3:00 pm
Cost: $3 per individual to enter state park paid at gate. Do not register on this website. Otherwise FREE, donations to the outdoor school are welcome. Please PREREGISTER by CLICKING HERE.
Age: Family Friendly, must be able to hike ~6 miles on flat to rolling terrain.
