The Coastal Plains Outdoor School is currently seeking an energetic and well-organized individual to help coordinate courses throughout the year. The Programs Coordinator (PC) would report directly to the Education Director.
Responsibilities:
- Correspond with guest instructors via phone and email regarding date of programs, itinerary and logistic
- Produce seasonal calendar of events and set dates for classes based on availability of instructors and analysis of competing programs
- Meet in person at the CPOS office in Lumberton, MS at least once every 2 to 3 months and be available for phone calls and online meetings as needed while building the seasonal calendar.
- Assist Education Director with logistical aspects of program development, including curriculum design, procedures documentation, purchasing, budgeting, etc.
- Energetic and passionate about CPOS programs
- Ability to work remotely and independently while meeting deadlines
- Familiar with and comfortable scheduling a variety of class topics including natural history, cultural history, ecological land use and sustainable living skills.
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Curiosity and the desire to learn new skills and solve problems
- Moxie: courageous spirit and determination
- Working knowledge of outdoor/experiential education as a profession
- commission per class scheduled (exact amount to be negotiated based on total workload accepted)
